“It is very important for teens to build their self-confidence; it is an important component in attaining dreams.”

- Tami Farrell, August 12, 2003

Born in Medford and raised on a farm in Phoenix, Oregon, Tami Farrell was considered by many to be a tomboy. As the first girl to play on an all-boys baseball team, she had a difficult time fitting in. She silenced her detractors with a game-winning grand slam in the final game of the season.

Throughout high school, Tami was elected Class President each year, including the notable distinction of All Student Body President during her senior year. She gave back to her community through her work with various local fundraisers and blood drives. Her volunteer work for the Salvation Army’s Cascade Division in Medford included Adopt-a-Family, Toy and Joy Center, and Celebrity bell-ringing.

In November 2002, Tami won the title of MISS OREGON TEEN USA 2003.

Ten months later, she was crowned MISS TEEN USA 2003.

Her life changed forever.

Throughout her year-long reign, Tami helped raise over twenty-one million dollars for charities – a new Miss Teen record. As a youth advocate to such organizations as PAX: Real Solutions to Gun Violence and SHiNE (Seeking Harmony in Neighborhoods Everyday), and the “What’s Your Anti-Drug?” Campaign, Tami helped raise awareness of prevailing social issues in America. She also became the national teen spokesperson for M.A.D.D. (Mothers Against Drunk Drivers) and an honorary board member and national spokesperson for Sparrow Clubs.

Tami just recently became the first ever youth spokesperson for the American Heart Association.

She was also the winner of the 2003 Miss Congeniality Award, given to the delegate who is most congenial, charismatic and inspirational.

That was no surprise to those who know Tami.

Tami loves to sing inspirational, country and her own music compositions. In fact, she recorded an album written and produced by top hits songwriter, Peter Rafelson (Madonna, Stevie Nicks, The Bangles).

Already a television and radio commercial veteran, Tami has begun branching out into acting, most recently landing a guest spot on COMEDY CENTRALS new show, SECRET GIRLFRIEND. She also worked with WB on FIVE (pilot), the NBC daytime hit soap, PASSIONS, and THE SCORE for MTV (pilot). Other credits include hosting the 2004 MISS TEEN USA preliminary pageant, MISS OREGON USA 2005 PAGEANT, E! BEHIND THE SCENES: Co-Hosted with TONY ORLANDO, NEW YORK CITY MDA TELETHON. 2004 MISS TEEN USA PAGEANT, and PALM SPRINGS NEWS for NBC KMIR 6, HOST MUSIC PLUS TV, as well as guest appearances on THE TODAY SHOW, EXTRA, CATHERINE CRIER LIVE, MTV’s TRL and PURSE RAIDERS, THE WAYNE BRADY SHOW, and THE BEST DAMN SPORTS SHOW.

Now residing in Los Angeles, Tami looks to continue her success in the entertainment industry. Now at only twenty-four years old, she finished her first screenplay, is writing her second pilot and her first book. Proving that through hard work and determination, dreams really do come true
